The
social Involvement and communication section covers
a wide range of issues related to how a business interacts
and communicates with its customers, the local community
and wider society. These elements are all central to
sustainable tourism and only businesses that embrace
them all can really be said to be sustainable. Examples
of social involvement and communication assessment
criteria include:
• Having a responsible visitor charter to encourage customers to be green
• Use of the GTBS logo to highlight green commitment to customers
• Specific green information for customers i.e. towel policy
• Provide a natural and healthy living space
• Promote physical and spiritual wellbeing
• Work with the local community on social and environmental projects
• Provide facilities for customers with mobility impairment
• Corporate social responsibility and environmental reporting |
