Green
Tourism for London is the scheme to help London’s
hotels, guesthouses, theatres, attractions and venues
go green.
The scheme has three main aims:
1. |
to help you improve your resource and
energy management |
2. |
to help you cut costs and |
3. |
by awarding you
a Bronze, Silver or Gold depending on your acheivements,
to help visitors assess the true green credentials
of your business before booking.
|
Members include The Langham Hotel, Olympia Conference
Centre, Claridge’s, the Bingham Hotel, the Design
Museum, the O2, the Arcola Theatre and many Marriott,
Sheraton
and Ramada hotels.
The scheme is supported by VisitEngland and Visit London
and businesses are accredited on their websites.
Sally Chatterjee, Chief Executive at Visit London, says
'Visit London is committed to helping businesses improve
their green credentials and most could save 25% off their
energy bills if they followed Green Tourism for London
advice.’
The awards, which are only made after a visit from an
independent assessor, recognise traditional energy and
resource management, as well as businesses that are actively
promoting public transport, local cultural activities and
London’s open spaces.
